What Do You Know About Dental Technology?
Advancements in dental treatment and technology are ever-growing and changing. If you think back to when you first started visiting the dentist, we would venture to say that the current treatment you receive is remarkably better. The upgrades to dental technology have truly changed how we treat you. The technology we use in our office helps us provide a more comfortable experience with much faster treatment and recovery times. We want to share more information about some of the technology you might see during your next visit. Read on to learn more.
Dental Technology at Ackley Dental Group
We use different dental technologies to treat patients. It is important that we provide our patients with state-of-the-art technology for the best service possible. The technology in our office helps us provide a more comfortable experience with faster treatment and recovery times. We use technology such as impression-free crowns, digital X-rays, and painless wand anesthesia. Two other forms of technology we commonly use are:
iTero Scanner
Certain treatments require impressions of your teeth. In the past, you may have had a goopy mold inserted into your mouth to get the necessary impression. It was uncomfortable and commonly caused gagging. The iTero Scanner eliminates the need for goopy impressions. A small, wand-like piece of technology is used to scan each tooth to create a digital impression.
Intraoral Camera
This wand-like device is used to take isolated pictures of your teeth. These images can then be enlarged to help us see your tooth enamel, between the teeth, and along the gumline at a closer angle. Not only does this help us see current problems or areas that need to be monitored, but it also allows us to explain the images to help you understand the need for treatment either now or in the future.
If you or a loved one needs an oral hygiene examination and cleaning or needs to schedule a recommended treatment, we would love to hear from you!
